Deadlines Approaching for SC08 Conference

The annual Supercomputing Conference has several deadlines coming up for faculty, staff and students who wish to participate. SC08 will take place in Austin, Texas from Nov. 15-21. CCT will host a booth at SC08 to showcase innovative research from the past year.

July 31 is the deadline to apply for ACM Student Research Competition, Doctoral Showcase, poster submissions, and Student Volunteer positions. Aug. 15 is the deadline for travel grant applications for under-represented groups. If there are people working within your research group or focus area who wish to attend any of these events during SC08, please be aware of these deadlines.

•    Shantenu Jha was invited to be the Program Chair for CLADE2009 -- Challenges of Large Applications in Distributed Environments, to be held in Munich in 2009.

•    An ALL CCT meeting will take place this Wednesday, July 16, at 3 p.m. in Johnston 338. Please make every effort to attend.

•    The Office of Group Benefits is requiring all plan members to submit documents verifying the status and relationship of covered dependents (i.e. children, spouses) through Nov. 30, 2008. LSU employees will have several opportunities to submit the appropriate documentation at locations on campus. For a list of required documentation and dates/times when Office of Group Benefits representatives will be on campus, please visit http://appl003.lsu.edu/hrm/benefitsweb.nsf/index. •    The University Office of Finance and Administrative Services has issued an updated memo regarding employees’ responsibility for University-owned property. Everyone employed by the University, including student workers, is responsible for the proper safeguarding of University equipment. All employees should have a fundamental understanding of the basic Property Management regulations of the University.
