BATON ROUGE – The Red Stick International Animation Festival, the largest animation festival in the United States, will run June 8-10 in downtown Baton Rouge at the Manship Theatre and Shaw Center for the Arts, with a special “secret” event at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 10.

Registration for ALL events is free, however space is limited. Please reserve your passes online to secure your seats. Attendees must bring the copy of registration confirmation to enter the theatre screenings and Special Presentation.  Register at http://www.redstickfestival.org.


Friday, June 8
7 p.m. OSCAR SHORTS – Screening of animated short films nominated for the 2012 Academy Awards.

Saturday, June 9

3 p.m. – 6 p.m. CARTOON-A-PALOOZA --  No registration is needed for this free, family event. Located in the Plaza for the Shaw Center for the Arts, this event includes face painting, clowns, balloon artists, airbrush tattoos, caricature artists, carnival games, karaoke for the entire family, free cupcakes and open concessions.

4 p.m. TANGLED EVER AFTER and BEST OF THE FEST – A double feature, including Disney’s short sequel to its hit movie “Tangled,” along with the winning entries in the festival’s Best of the Fest short film competition.

Sunday, June 10

2 p.m. The Red Stick Animation Festival has a very special event planned, but the studio won’t allow an announcement about it until June 6. This is a family friendly event you will NOT want to miss.  ***ABSOLUTELY NO RECORDING DEVICES – There will be a security check before you can enter the event.
