After the successful conclusion of the LSU Center for Computation & Technology's  (or CCT) first ever iOS Bootcamp, the CCT will kick off the academic year with the inaugural MAG (Mobile App | Art | Action Group) meeting.  Everyone interested in the potential for Mobile Apps is invited to come and add their vision for these revolutionary devices.  Development for this computing platform engages business people; graphic, interaction, and game designers; musicians; engineers; social media practitioners; marketing and advertising specialists; and even a few programmers.  Ubiquitous computing is here; now is the exciting time when possibilities are explored and new usage is discovered.  Come be a catalyst.

The group is inclusive of all disciplines, any type of application, and all mobile platforms.  Focus will be derived by those participating.

For those of you already working with mobile devices, this will be a place that you can share your progress, receive feedback and help, and connect with other potential collaborators.  Please bring work in progress to share at the meeting.  This can be interesting ideas, design documents, prototypes, or actual code.

For those of you just getting started, it will be a place to become more informed, gain exposure, connect with projects and groups, and get inspired.

Beyond being a congress of minds, the meeting is intentionally flexible.  We may have presentations, discussion, speakers, and contests. Bring ideas if you have thoughts on where we might go.

When:  Wednesday, September 7th (5:00-6:00 p.m.)
Where:  338 Johnston

Future meetings are scheduled for:  October 5, November 2, and December 7.

Two mailing lists have been set up at: mag-announce@cct.lsu.edu (low traffic group announcements) and mag-discuss@cct.lsu.edu (moderate activity to enhance iOS discussions). If you would like to join either mailing list, go to:
