-Congratulations to Theda Daniels-Race on her promotion to the rank of Professor, and to Xiaoliang Wan on his promotion to the rank of Associate Professor with tenure.
-Celalettin Emre Ozdemir and Ken Lopata (who have joint appointments with CCT) recently received the Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Awards, from the Oak Ridge Associated Universities, or ORAU. Celalettin Emre Ozdemir, an assistant professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, and Ken Lopata, an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry, were among 35 faculty members at ORAU-member institutions throughout the U.S. to be awarded grants for the 2015-16 academic year."
-A group of CCT students formed a team called SIMULOCEAN and joined the 2015 GPU Hackathon. -Special meal requests must be approved prior to the event. In order to allow for sufficient administrative processing time, special meal requests must be submitted at least 14 business days prior to the event.
-On November 7, 2014, Governor Jindal issued Executive Order BJ 14-16 that directed executive branch agencies including higher education to cease spending in support (non-personnel) categories. In response, LSU has developed operating guidelines to meet the spirit of the order through June 30, 2015 in support of the state budget. These guidelines apply only to expenditures using State appropriated funds that are included in the University's 2014-15 Operating Budget and so identified with a zero (0) in the sixth digit of the account number.
