OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Johnston Hall 338
November 14, 2006 - 07:30 am
Abstract:
CCT will connect via Access Grid to the Supercomputing Conference (SC06) in Tampa and will present in real time many of the scheduled lectures (view CCT's access grid schedule at www.cct.lsu.edu). SC06 is the premier international conference on high performance computing, networking and storage. This year the conference takes its inspiration from Albert Einstein who said "Computers are incredibly fast, accurate and stupid; humans are incredibly slow, inaccurate and brilliant; together they are powerful beyond imagination." We especially encourage you to watch Ed Seidel, CCT's director, accept the Sidney Fernbach Memorial Award and present his lecture titled "Solving Einstein's Equations through Computational Science" scheduled for Wednesday, November 15th at 8:15 a.m. (For more information on the award, please visit www.cct.lsu.edu/news).
