The Role of GAT in the D-Grid Project(s)

Abstract:
The presentation will start with a short overview about the D-Grid project, followed by the potentialities, and the requirements and needs for GAT within some sub-projects of D-Grid. The second part of the presentation covers the GAT PBS adaptor, recently developed at the AEI in Potsdam for C-Gat, and at the MPA (Max Plank Institute for Astrophysics) in Garching for JAVA GAT.

Speaker's Bio:
Alexander Beck-Ratzka received his Ph. D. in meteorology. He now works as a scientific application developer at the Max Plank Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute). Beck-Ratzka is over the administration of the Grid Application Toolkit (GAT) in the frame D-Grid project of the BMBF. He has also worked as a software developer at BETA Systems Software in Berlin, consulter for high performance computer users at the Regional Computing Centre for Niedersachsen and a free scientist at the Meteorological Observatory in Potsdam.
