Farid Harhad
I am a graduate student at LSU pursuing my Ph.D. in scientific visualization (with a minor in computational fluid dynamics). This is my 3rd year in the doctorate program.
I am proficient in the following languages and APIs: C/C++, OpenGL, OpenInventor.NET, C#, VB.NET, D/HTML, Javascript, CSS, XML, XSLT, SQL.
I am very interested in the art of game programming. In particular, I enjoy learning about the software engineering and computer graphics aspects. That is why I am enrolled in the class. As far as game preferences, I lean more towards first-person-shooter and role-playing games that have a science fiction plot to them.
For the past two years, I have worked with OpenGL and other graphics packages like OpenInventor and VTK. These are geared more towards science and engineering applications. I had the opportunity twice to intern for Schlumberger (Houston 2007 / Clamart, France 2008) and work on some visualization projects using these graphics packages.
Aside from game development, I enjoy playing Half Life, cooking, jogging, listening to music, and learning 3D modeling with Blender. I also speak and read French fluently.
