- Mastered the near-field optical simulation methods, including the Nonlinear Finite Difference Time Domain (NFDTD) method and the Rigorous Coupled Wave Analysis (RCWA) method, etc.
- Investigated the properties of Surface Plasmons (SPs) in periodic and nonperiodic slit-groove metallic structures. The results were published in Opt. Express and Chin. Phys. Lett.
- Investigated the beam deflection and focusing phenomena in subwavelength metallic structures containing nonlinear material, which can be used in near-field scanning, SPs antenna, etc. The results were published in Opt. Express and Appl. Phys. B
- Investigated the optical bistability and the switching effect in subwavelength metallic grating coated by nonlinear material. The results were published in Opt. Express and Opt. Lett., also highlighted in Nature Photonics 2, 264-265(2008).
- Investigated the s-polarization extraordinary optical transmission in subwavelength metallic structures and the properties of negative refraction materials together with other researchers.
