Dr. Stephen David Beck is serving as Interim Director of CCT. Along with that, he is Area Head of the Cultural Computing focus area, and director of the Laboratory for Creative Arts & Technologies (LCAT). He is a Professor of Composition and Computer Music in LSU's School of Music. Beck received his Ph.D in music composition and theory from UCLA, and held a Fulbright Fellowship (1985) at the Institut du Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique (IRCAM) in Paris. His research interests include: immersive audio, data sonification, auditory display, sound diffusion, and interactive computer music.

Rudy Hirschheim is the Ourso Family Distinguished Professor of Information Systems in the ISDS department of the E.J. Ourso College of Business and the focus area head of the Business, Medical and Social Informatics focus area at CCT. He received his Ph.D. in Information Systems from the University of London. His research expertise is in the area of outsourcing.

Sonja Wiley-Patton is assistant professor of Information Systems and Decision Sciences in LSU's E.J. Ourso College of Business Administration. She received her Ph.D in Communication and Information Sciences from the University of Hawaii. She is currently working on an NSF-funded study to examine why health care professionals are resistant to using information technology in clinical processes, especially when information technology has proven to reduce medical errors.

Andrei Hutanu graduated in 2002 and received his engineering diploma in Computer Science from
Politehnica University of Bucharest. Currently he is a researcher in the Grid and Visualization departments of the Center for Computation & Technology at Louisiana State University. Prior to this he was employed for two years as a researcher in the Visualization department of the Zuse Institute Berlin. His research interests are distributed interactive visualization, data management and optical network applications.

I'm a Ph.D. student in Computer Science. I've also joined the CFD-IGERT program. I obtained my bachelor's degree in Computer Science from LSU with a minor in Mathematics. My research interests are Scientific Visualization, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and Human-Computer Interaction.

Santiago graduated from University Blas Pascal in Argentina with a degree in Telecommunications Engineering. He earned an M.S. in Physics from the University of Texas at Brownsville and recently completed his second master's degree in Systems Science at Louisiana State University under the supervision of Dr. Gabrielle Allen, performing research on Grid Computing.

Currently, Santiago is a graduate assistant at the Center for Computation & Technology at LSU pursuing a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Systems and Decision Sciences under the supervision of Rudy Hirschheim. His research interests include SOA management, business ontologies, and the application of Grid technologies to business.

In addition to his research, Santiago works as Program Manager for the ParalleX Group. ParalleX is a revolutionary computational model created by Dr. Thomas Sterling to address the key challenges of efficiency, scalability, sustained performance, and power consumption with respect to the limitations of conventional programming practices.

I'm a doctoral student within the Computer Science Department. I completed Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Computer Science at Jackson State University respectively in 2003 and 2005 and started here at the LSU/CCT Fall 2005. Currently I'm investigating brokering techniques to help manage distributed visualization applications as part of the Enlightened Project. I'm also working with the Tangible Visualization Group to find ways to apply brokering and other distibuted computing concepts to support co-located, computer-supported, collaborative use of tangible interaction devices in scenarios such as remote visualization and teleconference sessions. My research interests include visualization, human computer interfaces, distributed computing and design.

Brian Willkie is seeking his Ph.D. from Louisiana State University where he works with Dr. Stephen Beck in the Electroacoustic Studio and the Laboratory for Creative Arts and Technologies (LCAT). His works have been performed in Japan, Argentina, the U.K. and regionally in the Southeastern U.S. and are published by Dorn Publishing. Brian received his Masters and Bachelors degrees in composition from the University of Georgia at Athens and studied in Paris at the Center for the Composition of Music Iannis Xenakis (formerly Les Ateliers UPIC). Current projects include ICAST, sonification, and spatialization.

Gennadi Gevorgyan is a PhD student in Manship school of mass communication. He received his master's degree in journalism and mass communication from Kansas State University in spring 2005. In 2003 he was awarded a U.S. Department of State Muske Graduate Fellowship. Prior to graduate studies, Gevorgyan was an assistant marketng director for a major Russian language newspaper in Yerevan, Armenia. He received his bachelor's degree in economics from Yerevan State University (Armenia) in 2001.
