CCT Grid Group |
The Grid group was formed as part of the Center for Computation and Technology intiative on Grid Computing. Grid computing is one of the focus areas of CCT. It is headed by Dr. Gabrielle Allen and has a strong scientific group of people drawn from different backgrounds. Currently the group is using the HPC resources, SuperMike and SuperHelix available at LSU for testing and using its software and also running simulation runs. The group is also part of the Gridlab testbed project and the status of the LSU machines can be seen at GridLab Testbed status page. For people interested in knowing more about Grid Computing, Dr. Allen is offering a graduate level course in Grid Computing under the Computer Science Department. The course offers an extensive insight into Grid Computing and the various application areas. The Class Pages provides links to various useful articles and references. The group also organizes tutorials and hands-on on various grid tools and software on a regular basis, which are available for free for all students, faculty and staff at LSU. Userguides and Readme files are also available in the software section. |
