The ATVB, Digital Media and Interactive Media Team Members at the Satellite Center made their annual pilgrimage to the International Red Stick Animation Festival in Baton Rouge. Once again Festival Director Stacey Simmons and the rest of her staff put together a great Festival where Team Members got to listen to talks and meet with professional animators, directors and producers from Disney, Dreamworks, Rhythm and Hues, Exodus Film Group, Rubicon and many others.
Team Members heard lectures and attended workshops with Leah Hoyer of Disney, David Corbett and Marlene Sharp of Rubicon, and Max Howard with Exodus and formerly with Disney, Warner Brothers, and Dreamworks. Team Members also heard Dr. Stuart Sumida who has been a consultant on over 35 animated films such Beauty and the Beast, Lion King and most recently How to Train Your Dragon. Another favorite was Christian De Vita who worked on the film Fantastic Mr. Fox and is currently working on director Tim Burton’s new animated movie.
