BATON ROUGE, La (WVLA)--The largest animation festival in the country kicks off tonight, and it's right here in Baton Rouge.
The Red Stick Animation Festival has everything from film screenings to animation classes and lectures for anyone interested in the field.
This is the sixth year for the event. Organizers say it's getting better every year.
"It's working," says director Stacey Simmons. "We're getting the attention of Disney and Dreamworks, they send speakers here, they send films here, it's really happening, it's really working, so this was meant to be an inspirational kind of event."
Most of the festival is centered downtown, but Wednesday kicks off at the Rave Theater at the Mall of Louisiana for the global premiere of Disney's latest animation movie "Tangled."
The director of Disney animation will be on hand after the movie for questions.
