Red Stick to Feature Special Screening of “Igor” with Producer Max Howard Saturday, April 25
BATON ROUGE – How do you successfully make a feature film about a main character who is both lovable and slightly creepy? Red Stick International Animation Festival participants can gain insight to this and other behind-the-scenes questions during a special film screening featuring an exclusive presentation by Max Howard, “Igor” producer.
Red Stick will show “Igor,” a story about a hunch-backed lab assistant who embarks on his own dream of winning the Evil Science Fair, on Saturday, April 25 at 3 p.m. in the Manship Theatre. This film is rated PG.
Howard will introduce the film, and will participate in a question-and-answer session with the audience afterward. Howard is the former head of Walt Disney’s Animation Studio in Florida. Following his work there, he created and now leads the Exodus Film Group in Los Angeles, California.
“We are so honored to have Max Howard join us for Red Stick to give our audiences a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the making of ‘Igor’,” said Red Stick International Animation Festival Director Stacey Simmons. “This will be an exciting opportunity for our guests to see a recent, acclaimed animated film and also meet an esteemed animator who has worked with many of the top names in the industry.”
The film screening is free, but participants must register for a complimentary Red Pass, available at http://redstickfestival.org/redpass.asp , to attend.
This film screening is part of events for the Red Stick International Animation Festival, the largest animation festival in the United States, which will take place April 22-25 in downtown Baton Rouge’s Arts District.
LSU’s Center for Computation & Technology sponsors the festival, in partnership with the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, Baton Rouge Area Foundation, East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President’s Office, Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism and Louisiana Economic Development.
