Judges Needed for 2009 “Best of the Fest” Red Stick Entries
The 2009 Red Stick International Animation Festival, which will take place April 22-25 in downtown Baton Rouge, is seeking film jurors for its annual “Best of the Fest” competition. The festival received a record-breaking 421 films from 45 countries in its submissions process this year, and needs input to determine which films get shown at the festival and which ones don't.
This year, the festival is partnering with 2theadvocate.com to launch a new Festival Jury site that lets members of the community review and rate the films submitted. To register as a Red Stick film juror, please go to: http://www.2theadvocate.com/redstick/
You can sign up on the site by entering your e-mail address and a password, then you will be able to screen films from the nine festival categories. If you have previously served on the Red Stick film jury, you are automatically entered as a juror for 2009. Just enter the e-mail and password you used before, and you will be able to access this year’s films.
The festival will use your votes to determine which films are accepted to Red Stick’s Best of the Fest screenings, which will be shown during the events downtown. Red Stick also will present the Best of the Fest awards for the top entry in each category during the festival.
This year, the Red Stick Festival Jury site offers a new feature – users can add tags and keywords to the films so that the festival can better sort through the films and organize them into screening categories.
As in years past, the festival has not conducted prior screening on any films, so expect the unexpected. But, because content is uncertain, only people 18 years of age or older can participate in the jury.
Red Stick thanks you in advance for your participation in the screening process!
