Johnston Hall 338
Dae-Il Choi, Korea Institute Of Science And Technology Information

Bio

Dale Choi is a research scientist in the e-science division at Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information. He received his Ph. D. in physics from the University of Texas at Austin. His main research interest is numerical relativity simulations of binary black hole interactions.

Abstract

KISTI (Korea Inst. Of Science and Technology Information) is a premier government-sponsored research institute to serve science and engineering communities in Korea with their data base, research networks and supercomputing needs. KISTI supercomputing center has just begun to install its 4th generation supercomputing facilities. In this talk, I will try give a brief overview on the research activities in KISTI. In particular, I will introduce research activities in the new numerical relativity group in KISTI which is expected to play a major role in the growing community of large scale simulation science in Korea.
