Digital Media Education Forum

November 1-2, 2007
LSU CAMPUS – Cook Conference Center
The LSU Office of Research and Economic Development and the LSU Center for Computation & Technology will host a two-day forum to help college and university representatives better implement digital media programs at their institutions.
The Digital Media Education Forum, which will take place at LSU's Lod Cook Conference Center on Thursday, November 1, and Friday, November 2, invites representatives from other universities to attend. We are also requesting informal proposals from other institutions that have implemented curricula in animation, digital engineering, video game design and other digital media study areas to attend as speakers and leaders. This forum is intended to advance discussion on the state of digital media in higher education. Thus attendees from every level of development are encouraged. It is appropriate for universities considering adding similar programs as well as seasoned veterans looking for innovation and leadership from other academics and industry leaders.
Industry representatives will attend to discuss what types of digital media experience are necessary from a business perspective, to give universities a better sense of how to prepare college students for a career in digital media.
The Forum will involve workshops, lectures and roundtable sessions that will allow collaboration and brainstorming between representatives of industry and faculty and administrators from universities.
Digital Media Education Forum is sponsored by the LSU Center for Computation & Technology, LSU Office of Research and Economic Development and the Baton Rouge Area Digital Industries Consortium.
