Professional - Information Technology Analyst 3
Software Developer
The Center for Computation & Technology (CCT) is an interdisciplinary research center on the LSU campus, where representatives from all areas of academics work with the high-performance computing resources available on campus to advance breakthroughs. Currently, the center is looking for an experienced Information Technology Analyst 3 who will contribute to the development of the NSF funded Stork Data Scheduler project. Stork, http://www.storkproject.org, is an innovative data scheduling software for large-scale distributed computing applications used by both the scientific and industrial communities.
The Information Technology Analyst 3 develops and implements the core Stork Data Scheduler functionalities; tests, validates, and releases software; ports it to different architectures; provides technical support to users. Depending on the qualifications of the candidate, the job may also include writing research publications; collaboration with other complimentary on-going research projects; working closely with an interdisciplinary research team and with several application groups together to achieve the goals of Stork Project.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related area; five years of C/C++ programming experience; expertise on UNIX-based platforms and software testing, packaging, porting, maintenance, and technical support; understanding of software development process and experience with developing production quality code.
Master’s degree in related field will substitute for the two years of experience.
Additional Qualifications
Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field; a good understanding of distributed computing models and applications; track record of publications, patents and ties with the research community.
