Facilities & Resources The Center for Computation & Technology at LSU houses
five Access Grid facilities, two conference rooms, two teaching rooms each with 36 1.3GHz 15”
PowerBook G4 machines, and a mobile node. CCT has a strong internal computing infrastructure
including mail, Web, CVS, DB, Jabber and LDAP servers. The internal computing resources
includes a large storage space of 5.5 Terabytes which can be used by all the users and CCT and
affiliates. Laptop computers are generally provided for students, graduate assistants and post
doctoral researchers at the Center. CCT has around 40 Desktop Computers and dual processor
workstations including both Intel and Mac architectures that are used for scientific computing and
visualization. In addition to this, the internal computing group recently aquired five dual processor
workstations equipped with 10 Gigabit network cards, high end nVidia graphic cards, each with a
0.5 TB of storage capacity and 24.1 inch flat panel displays. These machines will be exclusively
used for projects involving high speed data transfer and high end graphics & visualization. CCT
has wired and wireless networks, with around 250 Gigabit Ethernet Drops and 16 Wireless Access
points(a/b/g bands). |
